Also wanted to add that I agree with your takes on social media. TikTok is just mind numbing, Twitter is just full of pointless surface level arguments/discourse, and I actually recently left Instagram because it gave me great stress. It's nice to just have my own website to post my art on instead of sharing it on a website using tags where anyone can see it and say/think whatever they want 
Social media is awful for art imo. It's just too competitive and a huge annoyance, especially with all the drama that happens on a whim over literally anything and everything. So many private issues are just unnecessarily publicized and drawn out just for the sake of attention. Stressing out over likes and follows was also a big issue to me. When you realize that they are literally just numbers on a server that get projected onto your phone, they end up just meaning absolutely nothing. Ik that Neocities has a followers feature (unfortunately) but it is not as bad as it is on social media since I don't feel like a monkey having to perform at a circus
TL;DR - I agree that social media sucks and that Neocities is the way to go
